Far from the Front Lines

Batman asks “Where might the advance of God’s kingdom in the world stall out because you weren’t there on the front lines?”. Great question for me. I’m pretty sure I’m not on the front lines for Jesus. Never considered that because I’m not, He does not receive glory that is His due. Whoa! My guardian angel is not yawning — he’s snoring.
I’m excited about reading this book. I’m going to have to discipline myself to not read it all at once, but to stay at the pace governed by our group! From the first chapter it reminds me of Phillip Yancey’s The Jesus I Never Knew.
It seems to me I have part of me in all of the six cages. I would say, for me, that I have most assuredly been practicing “inverted Christianity”. How safe I have been thinking that I am serving God just by believing in Him and his Son. That my service is limited to a tiny little part of the kingdom known as Wildwood, with a few side trips to Berlin.
My challenge for this study, as it appears to be with my entire faith journey, will be to learn and implement something practical and useful to God so that he will place me on the Front Lines not to have this be an interesting intellectual exercise. I hope and pray that God will use you my brothers to speak into my life on this issue and that He will use me to speak into yours.
See you Wednesday AM!

Good point Kenny; how do we turn what we read, feel and experience in this study into something practical? I talk a big game….just wish I had more follow-through.
