I was wondering about why bad things happen to good people. How are we supposed to act and behave when it appears that despite living a life that bhonors God, we are attacked by bad things? Where is that we can find the wisdom to understand all of this?

The break at Genesis 2:4? It almost is indicative of emphasizing the need for rest. We are wired today just as Adam and Eve became wired....selfish people interested not in God's ways but in our ways.

Purely speculation, but perhaps God wanted Cain to wander the earth and contemplate his sin. Perhaps then Cain might be able to better find God. Noah obeyed God because he was righteous and was accustomed to following God. Besides, God was about to destroy everything on earth....that's incentive enough to do what you're told!

God created the olive leaf! How simple is that? He was done destroying all of life as He said He would do and then got busy with creating new life.

Ham should have simply walked away fom his drunk father and not have tattled on him to his brothers.

The Tower of Babel was all about the people who were building it. It had nothing to do with honoring God. This might well have been the beginnings of idols. Regarding Job, I never read it without being completely amazed at his faithfulness in his pain. I complain at the slightest discomfort....much like whats going on with my knee right now!

Of course, as he curses his own birth I think he's beginning to feel the pain and wish it were all over. I probably would have done that long before when Satan first started his test.

Kenny, I know this situation with your parents continues to challenge you on all fronts. I will praying for you and your family. Remember, it is God who may open your parents' eyes to their needs, and perhaps He will use you to do that in a loving way.
